MC 98000 Montecarlo
Madoi, in Montecarlo
August 13 – 25, 1973
During this week of holiday when Europe use to stop and enjoy a rest and Montecarlo is an attraction for the most glamorous and
exciting world of jet setters, Madoi accepted the invitation to set up an exhibition of some of his paintings in this unique location,
the Atrium of the Casino. Though with very short notice, lacking therefore the normal procedures necessary for promoting and
announcing this event, Madoi embraced this possibility with his usual enthusiasm, even deciding to paint in original and one by one
some posters advertising the date and the place of the exhibition. Records say that this was an exceptional time for Madoi, unusually
happy and festive in his adoring the Montecarlo atmosphere and being worshipped by critics and art dealers enthusiast of his art
works. He stayed there a long time, setting up in a little house on the hills of Beausoleil and creating colourful paintings who were
sold on the spot, keeping for himself just three lovely watercolours of Montecarlo landscape, now in the private collection of Laura
Madoi.
