Between 1960 and 1962, Madoi was invited to give a series of conferences and seminars on art in China, Hong Kong and Japan. He lived there for a long time, and during the last months of his stay, in addition to the hundreds of drawings sent home with long letters describing minutely his daily life in a reality so far away, he starting writing for the Gazzetta di Parma, sending them long articles and sketches. And so, at weekly intervals, Parma was inundated with his reports, impressions , moods and personal considerations
